Hope arrived this day...3 years ago!

Dear Ed,

As you well know, Thursday, December 31, 2009 was a very blessed day for me. That was the day my pathologist called me with my lab results, following my diagnosis in November 2008 of Stage 4 Throat Cancer, and a whirlwind of chemo and radiation treatments between January - June 2009 that destroyed my immune system.

You kindly introduced me to Kangen Water, and within 16 weeks of drinking Kangen Water, my tumor completely disappeared. This is confirmed by my attached lab report from my pathologist (My Lab Report of 3 biopsies done on December 18, 2009 is attached). My story is typed below.

My Personal Victory over Stage 4 Throat Cancer

There are no words to describe how it felt when (on November, 28, 2008) I was told that I had Stage 4 throat cancer with 3 months to live. Shocked and devastated are too mild.
It was as if someone had hit me between the eyes with a brick. With Chemo (5 different types: Cisplatin, Docetaxel, CDDP, Taxotere, 5FU over a 6 month period) and Radiation
(32 consecutive days) I would have at best a 50 percent chance of survival. But, I took the long-shot odds with medical treatment. I still had so much to live for.

I started the heavy-duty Chemo treatment in January, 2009 and was sick from the onset. The anti-nausea medicine made me so sleepy I couldn't function. I developed severe mouth sores, my hair & beard fell out, I was terribly fatigued, food had no taste and starting losing weight (over the entire treatment period I lost 80 pounds.) I was only getting nutrients through a stomach tube and liquids through an IV port.

But I am a fighter and I believe in God's miracles and natural healing, so in addition to Chemo and Radiation, I used prayer, had friends praying, and SEARCHED for natural healing products.

In April, 2009, God gave me the answer through my dear friend, Mr. Ed Johnson, who introduced me to Kangen Water that has been used in Japan for over 35 years and
is now available in the US.
  
Within 48-hours after drinking the 9.5 pH alkaline antioxidant Kangen Water, my mouth sores were totally gone, and for the first time in 6-months, I could eat and drink without using my feeding tube and water port.

The doctors were in awe of my progress and they stopped all my cancer medical treatment in June, 2009. On December 17, 2009, I had biopsy surgery (3 biopsies) to look for abnormalities and to determine if I had any residual cancer.

While waiting for my biopsy lab report, I prayed to the Lord that I would be blessed with good results by the end of the year.

THE BIG DAY for me was at the very end of the year, on December 31, 2009, when my radiation oncologist, Dr. McGann, who came in on her off-time at 6:30pm (the Lord cut my requested time-frame close), to review my cancer lab report. The result from the 3 biopsies was absolutely ASTONISHINGthe biopsies showed NO CANCER.  

Since I starting drinking Kangen Water, I have put on 30 pounds and my energy level is almost 100% back.

I gratefully thank God, and my friends who have been praying for me.

I have been blessed with great friends, great doctors, Kangen Water …. and One Mighty Awesome God!! 

I am cancer free and am now on a Life Mission to tell the World of my Cancer Story, and help others.

Five Ways Soda [Water] Puts Your Health in Danger

Just 100 years ago, the obesity rate in the United States was less than 5 percent. Now, about two-thirds (66%) of adults — more than 190 million Americans — are overweight or obese. What's the difference? Many experts believe it's the amount of sugar in our diets, especially the huge amounts of sugar Americans consume each day in the form of soft drinks — often called liquid candy.

The average American consumes 70 gallons of Soda Water per year…The group that drives this average up so high is children…The average size of a soda increased from 6.5 ounces in the 1950s, to an average of 16 ounces today. Researchers at India's Tata Memorial Hospital found
a "very significant correlation" between soft drinks and an increased risk of esophageal cancer.

The artificial sweetener used in diet colas carry even more risks. Aspartame is associated with several major cancers, including pancreatic, leukemia, lymphoma, and breast. A leading cause of cancer is fermented sugar in a low oxygen, acidic body. Diet Sodas are sweetened with aspartame, well known as a neurotoxin, (aka “NutraSweet” and “Equal”). Soda Waters are highly acidic (pH of 2.5 to 3.5pH). All diseases, including cancer, thrive in an acidic, low oxygen environment. Does it surprise you to know that the leading cause of death of children under 14 is cancer? Or, that 1 in 2 Americans will get Cancer during their lifetime? In 1903, only 3 out of 100 Americans got cancer, and children did not have it. 3 out of 100 is not acceptable, but 50 in 100 is absolutely intolerable…but, like it or not…that’s where we currently are in the US.

Here's a breakdown of five main ways soda is killing you:
Obesity. Sweetened drinks are the only specific food that clinical research has directly linked to weight gain," says Harvard endocrinologist Dr. David Ludwig. "Highly concentrated starches and sugars promote overeating, and the granddaddy of them all is sugar-sweetened beverages," Ludwig told CNN. The sugar provides huge amounts of calories, but also creates a vicious cycle. "It's rapidly absorbed, which raises blood sugar and in effect causes the body to panic," Ludwig said. When the body releases insulin to metabolize the sugar, blood sugar drops. The body responds by releasing a hormone called ghrelin, which causes hunger and provokes us to eat even more."
A study from UCLA found that people who drank at least one soda a day increased their risk of being overweight by 27 percent when compared to those who didn't drink sodas.
A direct correlation can be seen in California between the rise in the size of an average soda and an increase in obesity. For instance, the average size of a soda increased from 6.5 ounces in the 1950s to an average of 16 ounces today. And in the past 25 years, obesity rates in California have risen from 8.9 percent to 24.3 percent.
Diet sodas aren't any better than the sugared varieties. A study presented at a 2011 meeting of the American Diabetes Association found that those who drank diet sodas saw their waist circumference increase by 70 percent! Heart disease. Sodas definitely aren't good for your ticker. A Harvard study found that drinking a single 12-ounce sugar-sweetened drink each day increased the risk of heart disease by 29 percent. Cardiovascular damage from sodas appears to occur at an early age. A just-released study from the University of Sydney found that children who drank at least one soft drink a day had narrowed arteries in the back part of the eye, indicating an increased risk of high blood pressure and heart disease.
A study from researchers at the University of Colorado Denver Health Sciences Center found that a diet high in high-fructose corn syrup, the common sweetener used in soft drinks, increases the risk of developing high blood pressure by up to 87 percent. Soft drinks aren't good for cholesterol levels, either. A study published in Circulation, the journal of the American Heart Association, found that people who drank one or more soft drinks each day were 25 percent more likely to develop high blood triglycerides (a type of fat), and 32 percent more likely to have low levels of "good" cholesterol.
Diet soda isn't any healthier: A new study published in the Journal of General Internal Medicine found that people who drank a daily diet soda upped their odds of having a heart attack or stroke by 44 percent.
Diabetes. The Nurses' Health Study followed more than 90,000 women for eight years and found that those who drank at least one sugar-sweetened drink each day were almost twice as likely to have developed Type 2 diabetes as those who rarely drank sweetened beverages. Some researchers at Rutgers believe that high-fructose corn syrup, an ingredient in most sugar-sweetened soft drinks, may initiate a string of events in the body that leads to diabetes.
Cancer. British researchers discovered that sodium benzoate, used for mold prevention in many soft drinks, has the ability to switch off vital parts of a person's DNA. The result could be cirrhosis of the liver and other degenerative diseases, including Parkinson's. But when mixed with vitamin C, sodium benzoate creates a carcinogenic substance called benzene. Researchers at India's Tata Memorial Hospital found a "very significant correlation" between soft drinks and an increased risk of esophageal cancer. The artificial sweeteners in diet colas may carry even more risks. Lung problems. Scientists at Australia's University of Adelaide interviewed more than 16,000 people over two years and found a link between soft drinks and asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The more "soft drinks" a person drank, the more likely they were to suffer from asthma or COPD.

Bloodwork Wonder

Last week I had some blood work done because the doctor is watching my cholesterol levels. 
I have been taking the same daily dosage of medication for some time. 
In December my total cholesterol was 181 and in March 163;
triglycerides in December 104 and March 97;
LDL 88 in Dec and 83 in March.

The doctor commented on how my numbers had improved and how good my numbers were and asked what else I was doing… “drinking alkaline Kangen water!” was my reply.

It's just to warn people that they don't need to take so much medication.
If you really need to take medication, take it. But I have always had the philosophy: You should take medication as a last resort, not a first choice. Do not have blind faith in the FDA, the pharmaceutical industry, the doctor or the pharmacist. You need to take some personal responsibility to protect yourself and your loved ones from an adverse drug reaction."

Fereydoon Batmanghelidj, M.D., an internationally renowned researcher, author and advocate of the natural healing power of water, was born in Iran in 1931.
Dr. B.He attended Fettes College in Scotland and was a graduate of St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School of London University, where he studied under Sir Alexander Fleming, who shared the Nobel Prize for the discovery of penicillin. Dr. Batmanghelidj practiced medicine in the United Kingdom before returning to Iran where he played a key role in the development of hospitals and medical centers. With no medications at his disposal, Dr. B. gave him two glasses of water. Within eight minutes, his pain disappeared. He was instructed to drink two glasses of water every three hours and became absolutely pain free for his four remaining months in the prison.
Dr. B. successfully treated 3,000 fellow prisoners suffering from stress-induced peptic ulcer disease with water alone. While in prison he conducted extensive research into the medicinal effects of water in preventing and relieving many painful degenerative diseases. Evin proved an ideal “stress laboratory,” and despite his being offered an earlier release, Dr. B. chose to stay an extra four months in prison to complete his research into the relationship of dehydration and bleeding peptic ulcer disease.

The New York Times Science Watch reported this discovery on June 21, 1983. On his release from prison in 1982, Dr. Batmanghelidj escaped from Iran and came to America. His findings were published in the Foundation’s “Journal of Science in Medicine Simplified” in 1991 and 1992.

Question#1: I have read on the Internet that it is not possible to create alkaline or acid water from pure water and that water that is pure enough to drink can't be split into alkaline and acid components. Is this true?

Answer: As responsible scientists, we had the same skepticism when we first heard about alkaline water. Therefore, the first thing we did was to purchase a water alkalinizer as well as an accurate electronic pH meter. We ran tap water with pH 7.1 from our home faucet into the device and found that the water coming out of the alkaline outlet had a pH of 9.5 (indicating very alkaline), while the water from the acid outlet measured pH 4.5 (indicating very acidic).

We repeated this experiment with a variety of tap waters obtaining alkaline outputs with a pH ranging from 9.5 to 9.9. It is true that "pure" or distilled water can not be ionized. If you were to try to "split" distilled water, it would not work. Tap or spring water, however, has dissolved minerals in it. It's the minerals in the water; primarily calcium, potassium and magnesium that allow water to be "split" by an electric current into alkaline, "electron-rich" (i.e., containing negatively charged ions that can engage in chemical reactions to provide electrons to positively charged free radicals) and acid, "electron-deficient" components. Individuals who say it is not possible to split tap or spring water are misinformed.

Question#2: One site on the Internet states "Ionized water is nothing more than sales fiction; the term is meaningless to chemists. Most water that is fit for drinking is too unconductive to undergo significant electrolysis." Is this an accurate statement?

Answer: The above statement is easily shown to be incorrect with a simple pH meter and an electrolysis machine. Most tap waters run through the machine produce highly alkaline water as measured by a pH meter.

Question#3: Since you advocate drinking alkaline water, why not simply mix something like sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) with water and drink that? There are, in fact, alkaline waters sold that are made by mixing water with bicarbonate. Wouldn't that work as well and be much less expensive than a water alkalinizer?

Answer: There are more benefits to "alkaline water" than simply the alkalinity or pH. The most important feature of alkaline water produced by a water alkalinizer is its oxidation reduction potential (ORP). Water with a high negative ORP is of particular value in its ability to neutralize oxygen free radicals.

ORP can also be directly tested using an ORP sensor and meter. We have conducted these experiments as well. We found that water coming directly from the tap had an ORP of +290mV, while the water coming out of the water alkalinizer had a negative ORP. The more negative the ORP of a substance (that is, the higher its negative ORP), the more likely it is to engage in chemical reactions that donate electrons. These electrons are immediately available to engage in reactions that neutralize positively charged free radicals. This is the key benefit of water produced by a water alkalinizer that is not available by simply drinking water than has had some bicarb or other compounds dissolved in it to make it alkaline.

Although water mixed with bicarbonate is indeed alkaline, it does not have a negative ORP; rather it has a positive ORP, meaning that it is unable to neutralize dangerous oxygen free radicals. Alkaline water produced by running tap water through an electrolysis machine does have a high negative ORP, meaning that it does have the ability to neutralize oxygen free radicals. We have confirmed these ORP measurements through our direct tests.

Question#4: OK, why is it important to drink alkaline water with a high negative ORP?

Answer: All chemical reactions occur with the transfer of electrons. Negatively charged entities are said to be reducing agents, meaning they are relatively electron rich and are able to donate electrons, reducing the charge of the entity with which they react. Relatively electron-poor entities are referred to as oxidizing agents, meaning they tend to pull electrons away. Thus, each substance in our body may act as either an oxidizing or reducing agent.

However, not just any negatively charged ion will be able to engage in the specific chemical reactions needed to neutralize oxygen free radicals. The HCO3-(bicarbonate) ions in alkaline bicarb water do not have this potential, whereas the OH-and mineral-rich water coming from an electrolysis machine (from tap water) does have this potential. That is implied in the negative value of the "oxidation reduction potential."

Free radicals are among the most damaging molecules in the body and are highly unstable molecules that are oxidizing agents and are electron deficient. They are a principal cause of damage and disease in the body. Oxygen free radicals contribute significantly to a broad variety of harmful conditions in the body ranging from life-threatening conditions such as heart disease, stroke and cancer, to less severe conditions such as sunburns, arthritis, cataracts, and many others. Free radicals MUST get electrons from somewhere and will steal them from whatever molecules are around, including normal, healthy tissues.

Damage to tissues results when free radicals strip these electrons from healthy cells. If the damage goes on unchecked, this will lead to disease. For example, the oxidation of LDL cholesterol particles in arterial walls by free radicals triggers an immune system response that results in atherosclerosis, the principal cause of heart disease. The negative ions in alkaline water from an electrolysis machine are a rich source of electrons that can be donated to these free radicals in the body, neutralizing them and stopping them from damaging healthy tissues. Specifically, these ions have the potential to engage in the chemical reactions necessary to neutralize oxygen free radicals.

Vitamin C and E, grape seed extract and alpha lipoic acid, for example, are all powerful electron donors. The vegetable-rich diet we recommend is alkaline and helps donate electrons to the body. Alkaline, electron-rich water falls in the same category. It can help with your body's need for electrons to counteract free radicals.

Interestingly, we also tested vegetable juice with the ORP meter and found that it also has a high negative ORP, meaning that it is able to neutralize oxygen free radicals. So at least one of the important benefits of eating vegetables can be obtained from drinking the high negative ORP alkaline water from an electrolysis machine.

Another benefit of drinking alkaline water is that it assists in the absorption of minerals. We know that if the body is not absorbing enough minerals, it will rob minerals from the body's mineral reserves, chiefly calcium from the bones.

It is well known that many chronic diseases result in excess acidity of the body (metabolic acidosis). We also know that the body tends to become more acidic due to modern dietary habits and lifestyles and the aging process itself.

The blood is carefully buffered to keep it in a narrow range between pH 7.35 to 7.45. The body keeps blood pH stable by utilizing alkaline buffers, chiefly bicarbonate, to neutralize acidic liquids (such as colas, which have a pH as low as 2.5) and other acidic products and byproducts. But as the blood stream receives these acidic substances, the alkaline buffers get used up. Drinking alkaline water helps reduce the burden on the limited alkaline buffers which are needed for the body's natural detoxification processes.

Question#5: Is there research that actually shows the benefits of drinking alkaline water?

Answer: A number of studies are summarized below. One study described below suggests that alkaline water encourages "friendly" anaerobic microflora in the human intestinal tract, and discourages "unfriendly" aerobic organisms. The researcher (see Vorobjeva NV below) writes: "Many diseases of the intestine are due to a disturbance in the balance of the microorganisms inhabiting the gut. The treatment of such diseases involves the restoration of the quantity and/or balance of residential microflora in the intestinal tract. It is known that aerobes and anaerobes grow at different oxidation-reduction potentials (ORP). The former require positive E(h) values up to +400 mV. Anaerobes do not grow unless the E(h) value is negative between -300 and -400 mV. In this work, it is suggested that prerequisite for the recovery and maintenance of obligatory anaerobic microflora in the intestinal tract is a negative ORP value of the intestinal milieu. Electrolyzed reducing water with E(h) values between 0 and -300 mV produced in electrolysis devices possesses this property. Drinking such water favours the growth of residential microflora in the gut. A sufficient array of data confirms this idea.

Question#6: How can alkaline water with a pH of 9 or 10 be expected to affect the body when the pH of the stomach is 2 or less?

Answer: It is important to remember that large amounts of hydrochloric acid are present in the stomach primarily when food is there. There is only a small amount of acid in stomach when it is empty, and this can be easily overcome when alkaline electron-rich water is consumed. Therefore, in order to gain maximum benefit, we recommend drinking alkaline water in between meals. Water consumed between meals will very quickly pass through the stomach and the GI tract.

How long will you live?
That entire groups of ethnic people live healthfully and disease free to 120 years or longer is alarming, given the fact that life expectancy in the U.S.A. is only 76 years.
Imagine living to 120 WITHOUT sickness or disease, to walk upright in full health to the day of your passing. Awesome thought, isn't it?
Americans typically die from estrogenic and disease-related health issues, not from old age. The obvious question of why is answered in looking at how we live. Beyond the stress of life, environmental issues and lack of exercise, the one thing that separates longevity from early death is the quality of food we eat.
Enzymes:
The Standard American Diet (S.A.D.) consists mostly of processed foods, foods which have life-giving enzymes cooked out of them. Heating, pasteurization, radiation and micro waving destroy enzymes in food and liquids. This causes vital parts of the body (heart, bones, organs, brain, blood, etc.) to lose enzyme benefits and consequently become inefficient, diseased, prematurely old, and finally, to stop functioning.
Cultures long on longevity eat whole, unprocessed foods, foods rich in enzymes. The difference adds up to 44 or more years of life, a life free of chronic illness and disease.
When Enzymes are plentiful, the body remains healthy. When Enzyme levels are low, sickness and death are common place. Low enzyme levels are America's number one cause of sickness and death. We can point to our S.A.D. way of life as the cause.
In short, if you eat heated, processed food, if you want longevity, you need enzyme supplements.
Dr. Edward Howell, a pioneer in enzyme research, is formally recognized as the discoverer of the vital role of enzymes in human nutrition. He pioneered more than 50 years of research and scientific experimentation with overwhelming evidence indicating that the primary cause of degenerative disease in humans is enzyme deficiencies, exacerbated by enzyme deficient mothers passing on genetic deficiencies to their offspring.
Dr. Howell, who has written two books on enzymes, theorizes that humans are given a limited supply of enzyme energy at birth, and that it is up to us to replenish our supply of enzymes to ensure that their vital jobs get done. If we do not replenish our supply, we run the risk of ill health. Replenishing enzymes comes from eating whole, unprocessed foods.
Howell postulates, "The length of life is inversely proportional to the rate of exhaustion of the enzyme potential of an organism. The increased use of food enzymes promotes a decreased rate of exhaustion of the enzyme potential." In other words, the more enzymes you get, the longer and healthier you live.
When we eat enzyme-deprived food, our bodies take metabolic enzymes from other parts of the body and use them to digest food. Yet these enzymes are needed for the proper functioning of the body's organs and systems. The more we rely on enzymes from these organs to digest food, the more we jeopardize our health.
Tests have shown that a 70-year-old person has only about half the enzyme level of a 20-year-old. A newborn baby has 100 times the enzymes levels of an elderly person! As we become enzyme-deficient, we age faster.
Enzymes are the stuff of life. In fact, the entire cycle of life is dependent on enzyme activity, without enzymes, we will die. They are so important in our health and well-being, not even vitamins, minerals or hormones have any value without them.
A little-known fact is that the regular use of digestive enzymes with meals often sheds excess pounds with dieting. Do you remember when you were young and lean? That's when your body had a much higher enzyme level! People who are either overweight or underweight frequently suffer from a lack of enzymes. Once the body receives whole, living foods, it produces changes that work miraculously in overcoming weight problems.
When the body is given an abundance of enzymes, the body can stop exhausting its own supply of enzymes for the sole purpose of digestion of food. The body's enzymes can now break down the excess fat, protein and clogged arteries and therefore have remarkable results for overweight people."
Enzymes are the work horse of maintaining a healthful body. They build strong bones and nerve tissue; they enable sperm to gain entrance into the ovum; they attack cancerous cells and carry them out of the body; they clean up the blood and tissue, dissolving foreign substances; and slow the aging process by maintaining the body's health at the cellular level.
When enzyme levels are low, food cannot be properly broken down and digested. The intestinal track becomes congested with partially digested food a particle that makes the intestinal tract resemble a clogged sewer pipe. Undigested food particles cling to intestines forming walls of encrustation that block vitamins and minerals from being absorbed by the body. Subsequently, food contents lodged in the intestinal track putrefy and turn toxic. Bacteria and parasites begin to flourish and live in the bowel. Eventually, this condition creates holes in the lining of the intestine allowing partially digested food particles, toxins, bacteria and parasites to seep through the bowel wall and into the blood stream. Because enzyme action is missing in the digestive tract to eliminate this condition, the body has no way of destroying or to rid itself of this toxic brew.
This means much of the food we eat ends up accumulating like garbage in vital areas of the body, undigested and unabsorbed. Our bodies do not receive the nutrients they contain and we literally "starve" ourselves for wholesome nutrition, even while we feast and gain weight. Again, like garbage, undigested, unsplit food molecules often putrefy in our intestines producing dangerous toxic substances that literally poison our bodies.
If it is a fat molecule we know it as cholesterol plaque; if calcium, arthritis; if sugar, diabetes. Enzymes are living catalysts found in every part of the body and involved in every chemical reaction. Enzymes digest food, making it small enough to pass through the intestinal walls to the blood and then throughout the body. Enzymes eliminate toxins from the body. Enzymes nourish the body with minerals and vitamins. Without enzymes, minerals and vitamins lay useless in the body or pass through without being used.
Enzymes make up every aspect of the immune system. Every function of the body is dependent upon enzymes, including breathing, seeing, hearing, and thinking.

Low Enzyme Level Indicators.
Largely because of our modern diets, which are deficient in enzymes, most of us deplete our body's natural enzyme level as we age. Lack of enzymes also puts stress on vital organs like the pancreas, liver and spleen, causing a metabolic deficit.

The miraculous results of enzyme nutrition have been documented by the American Medical Association, American Heart Association, Zoological Society of Philadelphia, Tokyo Imperial University, Cornell University, John Hopkins University, UCLA's School of Medicine, Canadian Medical Association, and the Russian Institute of Biochemistry, to name a few. These institutions collectively offer substantial evidence that enzymes are the major cause and cure of all diseases. In other words, health is simply the production of enzymes and sickness is simply the destruction of enzymes.
Evidence That Enzyme Supplementation Works:
For years, most so-called "experts" believed that if enzymes were taken orally, they simply passed right through the body without being absorbed. Many also believed that all enzymes from ingested food were destroyed in the stomach. Yet independent research shows that neither is the case.
In one experiment, authors of Enzymes Therapy, Max Wolf, M.D. and Earl Hansberger, Ph.D, tagged certain enzymes with radioactive dye and determined that they could later be found in the liver, spleen, kidneys, heart and other vital organs of the subjects who ingested them. A Northwestern University study showed that the enzyme amylase, from germinated barley, digested starch in the stomach and then passed into the small intestine where it continued digestion.
Dr. Howell's Recommendation:
According to Dr. Howell it's not possible to overcome the enzyme drain of cooked foods just by eating other raw foods. He states: "The only solution is to take capsules of concentrated plant enzymes. In the absence of contraindications, you should take from l to 3 capsules per meal. Of course, if you are eating all raw foods, then no enzymes will be necessary at that meal.
The capsules should be opened and sprinkled on the food or chewed with the meal. This way, the enzymes can go to work immediately. Incidentally, taking extra enzymes is the third way to neutralize the enzyme inhibitors in unsprouted seeds and nuts.
Concentrates of plant enzymes or fungus enzymes are better for predigestion of food than tablets of pancreatic enzymes. This is because plant enzymes can work in the acidity of the stomach, whereas pancreatic enzymes only work best in the alkalinity of the small intestine.
If the enzyme tablet has an enteric coating, then it's not suitable, since it will only release after it has passed the stomach. By this time, it's too late for food predigestion. The body itself has already used its own enzymes to digest the food."
Not All Enzyme Supplements are Created Equal.
Many enzymes are not only deficient but also inactive. At the Young Living Life Research Clinic in Springville, UT, Gary Young tested over 21 different enzyme products and did not find a single one that was effective in a clinical environment. The patients were closely monitored, their food intake was measured, their blood and digestive systems regularly measured and analyzed. The clinic staff found that the patients were simply not obtaining value from their foods because their enzymes were inactive.
A Sampling of Hundreds of Clinical Studies:
ALLERGIES result from low levels of enzymes, especially amylase, protease,and lipase, allowing food substances to accumulate in the blood. Dr. William Lintz eliminated allergy symptoms in 472 patients by eliminating the toxins in their bodies. In hundreds of other cases, enzyme supplements taken orally restored the body's enzyme level, dissolved undigested food particles, and eliminated a variety of allergic conditions including asthma, hay fever, eczema, headaches, vomiting, angioneurotic edema, colitis, and hives.
ARTHRITIS - Dr. Anthony Bassler treated and observed 344 patients with arthritis and, along with British surgeon Sir Arbuthnot Lane, discovered that symptoms disappeared or lessened substantially with the cleaning up of the intestinal track, consequently increasing enzyme efficiency. In England, Dr. Arnold Renshaw's enzyme therapy resulted in either marked improvement or cures for more than 1500 arthritic patients.
ARTERIOSCLEROSIS - is the condition of clogged blood vessels. The principal substance that clogs arteries is cholesterol. This accumulation can only occur when enzymes, especially lipase, in the bloodstream are below normal.
BLOOD disorders are effectively treated with oral enzymes, worldwide. Phlebitis, hypertension, blood clots, cholesterol buildup, arteriosclerosis, varicose veins, and leukemia are a few of the successfully treated conditions. This success is a result of the scavenger like quality of enzymes that patrol the blood stream to seek out and dissolve foreign substances. To prove the connection between enzymes and heart disease, Dr. J.E. Kirk conducted an exhaustive study covering 27,200 essays on 98 different enzymes.
CANCER, like all disease, is preceded and preserved by low enzyme levels. So it seems logical to assume that cancer can be prevented or treated by increasing enzyme intake. Modern medical science is slowly coming around to this realization as evidenced by doctors at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. In 1994, they discovered that prostate cancer is induced by a missing enzyme that can be found in any cruciferous vegetable. Normally, humans carry 100 to 10,000 cancer cells floating around at all times. In a healthy immune system, enzymes destroy these cancer cells quickly before they are able to attach to an organ and grow. When the immune system lacks enzymes, these cells can attach, grow, and become malignant.
FIBROCYSTIC OR CYSTIC BREAST DISEASE IN WOMEN: Fibrocystic disease occurs in almost 50% of premenopausal women. Although benign, it can cause pain and discomfort. Enzyme therapy has been successfully used as treatment. Drs. Wolfgang, Scheef and Konig studied 247 women over a period of five years. After six weeks, more than 65% of the women taking the enzyme therapy were free of complaints.
INJURIES - Many Olympic athletes are daily given enzyme supplements to accelerate recovery from surgery, injuries, or intense exercise.
Oral Proteolytic Enzymes in the Treatment of Athletic Injuries: A Double Blind Study, The Pennsylvania Medical Journal, October, 1965. Richard E. Deitrick, M.D., concluded, "Oral enzymes accelerate healing". As a result of his research he added oral enzymes as a routine to his treatment of athletic injuries. The beneficial effect was not limited to one type of injury, but was seen in a variety of injuries normally encountered in contact sports.
Three independent double blind trials in obstetrics have shown that proteolytic enzymes are effective following episiotomies. In all three trials there was a lower incidence of pain, swelling and tenderness in the enzyme treated group as compared to the control group.
Conclusion:
Enzymes are essential for health and longevity. But our American culture, with its demand for fast, convenient foods, is destroying our health and longevity. The prime indicator is the destruction of vital, life-giving enzymes found in whole foods through heating, radiation, pasteurization, radiation and micro waving.
To replenish the loss of enzymes we need to eat more whole, raw, unprocessed foods, and add enzyme supplements to our diet. Numerous clinical studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of enzyme therapy in healing.
Not all enzyme supplements work. Be prepared to pay more for high quality enzyme products that work. Otherwise, you may be wasting money on inferior products. Reads labels and ask questions about the formulator to make an informed decision.
Good health and longevity is our birthright. That we are dying so young is testimonial to our lack of knowledge, our way of life and our S.A.D. food intake. This author urges you to read this article aloud to your family. Hold a family summit meeting to make a commitment about eating more raw foods, and making room in the family budget to include quality enzyme supplements on the dinner table. Howell, Enzyme Nutrition, 1985.
3. The word "iatrogenic" is from two Greek words iatros-genics. "Iatros" means physician and "genic" means caused. In other words, iatrogenic is a disease, sickness, impairment, disfigurement or death caused by the practice of "acceptable" medical care (excluding malpractice or other medical mistakes).

4. In a study by Dr. Radwan Farag of Cairo University, it was discovered that just two seconds of microwave energy destroys all the enzymes in a food (Essential Oil Desk Reference,.Essential Science Publishing, Salem UT, 2nd Edition, p.210)
Three minutes in boiling water destroys the enzymes; pasteurization destroys 80% to 95%; and baking, frying, broiling, stewing and canning destroys 100%. Nature designed food with sufficient enzymes within it to digest that food when it is ingested. When enzymes are destroyed by cooking or other processing, ingesting that food triggers the body's immune system, and it responds with leukocytosis.

The key is to remember that food enzymes are destroyed at temperatures above 118 °F. This means that cooked and processed foods contain few, if any, enzymes, and that the typical diet found in industrialized countries is enzyme-deficient.

  • Airconditioner Vent - Place 5 - 10 drops on a cottonball and then place it in the vent of your air conditioner (home, car, office, hotel room etc.)
  • Eliminate odors by diffusing for 15 to 30 minutes, once or twice a day in a Young Living Cold Air Diffuser - e.g. Cigarettes, Pet Beds and Litter Boxes, Bathrooms, Shoe Rooms etc.
